Today we took a cruise on Ullswater. Starting from Glenridding, stopping at Howtown for passengers to get off, and then to shortly depart for Pooley Bridge. The canoeists, sailing boats, kayaks, and the other ‘steam’ boats taking passengers up and down Ullswater made for relaxing viewing, as we made our way smoothly cutting through the water. The surrounding hills were a towering backdrop to all of this, and looked so lovely and green as they cast long reflections in the water. It was all very beautiful and stunning.
We had lunch in the Treetops café at Pooley Bridge. I had a ham platter which consisted of ham, homemade coleslaw served in an iceberg lettuce leaf, with a generous helping of chips, and a salad. For pudding I had sticky toffee flavoured ice cream.
The boat was very easy to board and there was plenty of space inside. We were told that we could sit anywhere, so we chose a seat by the window and had a very clear view of the lake.Click the boats to see some more photos.
