May Fayre

It was a sunny day on the May Bank Holiday and in town was the annual May Fayre. There were stalls selling various things on both sides of Market Place and down Denmark Street. There was street entertainment including Morris Men, a barrel organ, as well as jugglers and stilt walkers wandering around. In Market Place there was a stage erected with entertainment from local community groups. In Elms Field there was Ferret Racing, May Pole Dancing, and the St. Sebastian Brass band. It only required a dead body and DCI Barnaby to complete the scene . In the children’s’ play area there were a number of fairground attractions especially for children. I enjoyed a burger from one of the vans for my lunch.
