We decided to head to Slough for the Canal Festival. You may think that this would be mostly on the water, but most of the stalls and attractions were in a field next to the canal, and not water based. There were static steam engines, a dog show, Punch and Judy, a climbing wall, falconry and other country fair type attractions.
At the ferret racing, Wayne and I chose a ferret each for a race. Mine stopped half way down the course and refused to go any further, which was very funny.
Along the canal were parked up a small number of canal boats. Boat trips were available but unfortunately they were not accessible for wheelchairs.
Although entry was free, and after a brief shower the weather was fine, the public attendance was very low. Which was a shame for the organisers and stall holders.
