St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle

Today I went to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle for a free Christmas lunchtime organ recital given by the Director of Music, James Vivian, Assistant Director of Music, Richard Pinel, and Glenn Dempsey, an organ scholar. They played traditional variations of carols, for example "Away in a Manger", "God rest ye merry gentlemen" and also an arrangement of "Walking in the Air" using a lovely bell effect.
To allow for wheelchair access we were escorted to the rear entrance of the chapel which gave us an opportunity to view some lovely houses inside the castle walls which are occupied by the choir master and others.
Earlier on we came across Slough Salvation Army Band playing by the station who were performing all the festive favourites.
I wish all of my readers a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.Keep watching, and see you in 2014.
