Burnham Beeches Half Marathon

Today I was marshalling at the Burnham Beeches half marathon at a road junction adjacent to the Burnham Beeches nature reserve. My job for the day was to watch the progress of the runners and radio the control station with the numbers of the first few for the public address system back at the start / finish line.If you have ever done a jigsaw and found the last piece missing, well I know where that piece was today. One of the last runners was dressed as a piece of jigsaw. He said he was lost and had we seen his 499 friends. When Elvis ran past, one of the other marshals asked him to do a song. However he did not stop as he said that he was all shook up!Once we had finished we went to the start / finish area where we were able to collect some RAYNET fleeces that we had previously ordered.www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/things-to-do/green-spaces/burnham-beeches-and-stoke-common/Pages/default.aspx
