Ho ho ho

Some people may say that shopping for Christmas is too early before Halloween but today there were gifts from stocking fillers to larger present ideas filling marquees on the lawns of Mapledurham House on a crisp autumnal day. With only nine shopping weekends left before Christmas, this was an early chance to grab a Christmassy bargain for all the family.Father Christmas was on hand and looked as though he had a suntan under his beard. He said that he was going to be very busy in the next few weeks as he has only managed to check the list once and needs to do it again very soon or he will get behind schedule. This fair is still in its infancy, because it is only its second year, however it looks set to become very popular as there were a large number of stall holders and many excited visitors spending money, including Wayne and myself. There were pies, pasties, burgers, and chips available from stalls and vans, as well as the Mapledurham House cafe which was open for business. The house and working water mill was open but we did not have time to see them properly and that will have to wait for another day.http://www.mapledurham.co.uk/events/2014/9/24/mapledurham-christmas-craft-and-gift-fair
