Today I came to Windsor to look in Daniels for a new coach to go on my model railway as they have an extensive range of Scalextric, Hornby, and the Corgi lorries that I collect.
Windsor was the usual bustling mixture of tourists all snapping away on their cameras and phones. Who knows we could be famous all over the world as we are caught walking through some of the poses.
After drooling over all the nice trains, trucks, and coaches, I purchased a Pullman coach to go with my apple green Tornado. Tornado is one of my favourite steam trains as it was built from scratch between 1990 and 2008 rather than being saved from the scrap man and preserved. When I first saw this train, in 2009, it was steaming through Wokingham as part of a UK tour in its sparkling apple green livery. Since then it has changed colour a couple of times. The Pullman coach will go with it very nicely indeed.
I couldn’t resist the King and Castle for lunch with its fantastic view of Windsor Castle. A veggie burger, chips and a diet Coke (other brands available) will sustain me until tea time. Well at least until I get home.
