This weekend I went to the Farnham and District Model Railway Club annual exhibition. This is different from the model exhibition at STEAM in Swindon as it is more local. The club meets regularly and has various groups modelling in different scales and gauges.
Arriving promptly we made our way around the many layouts and stalls. It is all very well laid out to allow easy access although I couldn’t see a couple of layouts from my chair as they were too high.
At these events people are always willing to chat and the exhibitors will happily explain things about their layouts. Clearly much work has gone into each stand. One of the layouts had been saved from being scrapped when the owner passed away and their family was clearing their house. This layout is now available for others to enjoy.
On one of the stalls I purchased a lovely Gomm Pullman pin badge and a coal wagon to add to my freight train. I also enjoyed a piping hot sausage and onion roll provided by the Lions who were providing the catering in the canteen.http://farnhammrc.org.uk
