Sometimes there are lunchtime concerts held in Wokingham town hall to raise money for the Mayor’s charity. This week was the first concert to be held by the new Mayor, Councillor Mrs Gwynneth Hewetson, who was elected in May. She has chosen the local charity Soulscape, for her charity for 2016/17.
It was the first time that the 4Bones, a trombone quartet, had played at the town hall. Dressed in black and red, carrying their bright shiny brass trombones, they played a selection of lively toe-tapping jazz pieces to an appreciative audience.
There is a lift to get to the first floor of the town hall where the concerts are held. Admission is by donation, and tea and biscuits are available at the end of the concert.
