Acorn Singers Lunchtime Concert

Although I was out with Wayne this Thursday I was test driving a new carer, Dorin, so that Wayne can have some time off. The three of us went to the Gig House for brunch as usual where we met with the usual Thursday crowd. By a strange coincidence one of the ladies had already met Dorin before on a bus where they had got talking.

After brunch we made our way to the Town Hall for the second concert in this year’s Mayor’s Concert lunchtime programme. This was given by the local chamber choir the Acorn Singers. As it is 400 years since Shakespeare’s death in 1616 the music had a Shakespearian theme and they sung madrigals from the courts of his day.

It was nice to see that the hall was packed with an good audience and the music and singing was very good.

Entrance to these concerts is free with a donation to the Mayor’s charity which is Soulscape for 2016/17. Access to the hall is by lift.
