There was lots of music in Wokingham town centre last Saturday. Playing outside of the Town Hall were five members of the Saint Sebastian’s brass band playing seasonal band music. I stopped here to listen for a while before going into the town hall where it was lovely and warm.
In the main hall there was the Christmas sing-along led by the Cameo Singers. The hall had been laid out like a cabaret with tables and chairs. I shared a table with some interesting ladies, and was served mulled wine and mince pies. The music was a selection of sing-a-long and classic pieces for the choir, as well as funny readings for the season.
All of this was free with donations to various causes including the Mayor’s charities for 2017.
