Butterflies at Wisley RHS

I went to Wisley RHS to see the butterflies in the Glasshouse (http://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/wisley/what-s-on/butterflies). Saw about one dozen types of butterfly in the specially created climate. Like a jungle atmosphere.

You had to be very patient to spot the butterflies, some of whom frustratingly chose to cling to the rafters. Probably to get to the light. However some were very tame and even sat on one elderly gentleman’s head, much to the amusement of his wife. This gave her a great photo opportunity. We were also able to take some photographs of a few butterflies that conveniently posed on leaves and branches.
Dined in the very busy Conservatory Cafe. I had the Barkham Blue cheese tart with salad and a Pepsi.
Viewed the gift shop but decided it was too expensive and they didn’t sell any pin badges.
An enjoyable day with good wheelchair access and friendly staff. Rather a cold day, but lovely and warm in the butterfly house.
