Wokingham Town Hall Open Day

Today I went to an open day of the Wokingham Town Hall. On display was the town silver and other town artefacts. We had a chat with local historian Jim Bell who talked about the history of the town hall and the fact that it has been used as a bank, fire station, prison, and dance hall.
Upstairs in the main hall we met with the Mayor and his attendant. He showed us round some of the magnificent pictures that are on the walls. We remarked that one of them looked like Princess Anne.
There was an excellent brief history pamphlet describing the town hall rooms and features and there were some local history books available.www.wokingham-tc.gov.uk/museum/
