The Chorate Chamber Choir is a highly accomplished Reading-based mixed voice chamber choir who have sung all over the UK in major cathedrals and churches, as well as having performed the National Anthem at the Rugby World Cup.
I was very fortunate to see them perform at a Saturday lunchtime concert at Saint Mary’s church in Slough. Previously they have been given an award for being the best performers in this popular concert series. For this concert they sang a series of sonnets about animals based on Aesop’s Fables. “The Tortoise and the Hare”, “The North Wind and the Sun”, “The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs”, “The Raven and A Swan”, “The Mountains in Labour”.
To finish the concert they performed a couple of songs in Welsh to practice for a concert they are going to perform at Margam Abbey in South Wales.
