Songs from the Shows

About 35 people came to listen to the St. Mary’s, Slough, lunchtime concert “Songs from the Shows” given by Charley Brighton and Malcolm Stowell. Charley Brighton is an accomplished euphonium player from who used to be in the Slough Salvation Army among other things. Using a selection of different brass instruments he played popular musical pieces, accompanied by Malcolm, such as “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina” from the musical Evita, ”Nessun Dorma” which is an aria from Puccini’s “Turandot” and “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly” from My Fair Lady.

A few of us went over to the community café after the concert for lunch, where we shared a table, and all agreed that we had enjoyed the concert.
