After hearing a news article on BBC Radio Berkshire about a First World War commemorative exhibition at the West Berkshire Museum I decided to go along and take a look.
The idea was to tell the story of the WW1 and how cherished memories become attached to ordinary objects. The museum had made an appeal for local people to make donations which could be displayed.
The exhibition comprised of several display cases with mementos, letters, medals, and a bit of background history for some of the soldiers from around Newbury.
There were also personal accounts and other related memorabilia which had been given to the museum by local people following the appeal.
